CEo and Founder of facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, yesterday announced sweeping changes to the user experience for all of us. The biggest impact will be felt on the timeline where most of our stories pop up if you Like or follow our page.
Facebook will be prioritizing posts from your friends and family and suppress posts from pages like CollegeMarching.com and thousands of others. This is not because we have done anything wrong, it is just a new vision from facebook and unfortunately our community is going to feel it’s impact.
In order to keep our huge and devoted community together we created a facebook group a few months ago. We learned that facebook would be prioritizing groups in these changes and this would be the best way for communities like ours to stay together. So we tested it out and so far it has been a ton of fun!
We would like to invite you all to join our group CollegeMarching.com Insiders. All you have to do is request to join, answer the 3 questions and you’ll be added in! One of the huge perks of the group is you now have the ability to post topics that you want to talk about and you can directly interact with other fellow collegiate marching band fans from around the world. Plus you get direct access to our team! Talk with them directly and get insights from them as they hit the road bringing you the best from the band world each season.
We hope that you’ll join us in the group and please share this with your fellow band friends so they can also join us! We will continue to post on the facebook page just as we do normally. Over time you may start to see less and less of those posts as the facebook algorithm moves posts from pages out of your news feed/timeline. Hopefully by joining the group you won’t miss a thing!
See you there!
