Is the Ultimate College Marching Band Match-up Coming?

There are very few scenarios that would put the Western Carolina Pride of the Mountains in a game against the Jacksonville State Marching Southerners, but a girl can dream can’t she? There is only one scenario outside of the schools just flat out scheduling each other to meet in a football game that would put these two bands together. The FCS Playoffs.

Right now JSU is the #1 ranked FCS school in the country at 5-1. They look poised to make the 16 team playoff. WCU is ranked 45th, but is 3-1 and has an outside shot at making a run for the Playoff. If they can sneak in they would most likely be the 24th team. A win in the first round of the FCS would put them in a match-up against JSU…

I know it’s a long shot, but to quote my favorite movie, Angels in the Outfield, “Hey, it could happen!”.

IF this were to happen and that’s a big IF, it would create a halftime show worthy of broadcasting to every home in America. Don’t believe me? Take a watch at the 2015 shows of the Western Carolina University Pride of the Mountains and the Jacksonville State University Marching Southerners below. These two monster bands would go head to head in the ultimate college band match-up. NO amount of money would stop me from attending that game strictly for halftime.
