KSU Band Members Release HootyHoo Rap Video

File this under things I never thought I’d see band kids do, but I like it!

A couple members of the Kennessaw State Marching Owls got together to try and bring some fun and hype to the KSU student body as the new semester rolls in. They wrote a rap and dropped a music video that is actually quite funny. 

We caught up with one of the guys behind the whole project, Brooks Payne, to hear about the process of making this video and the reaction they’re seeing across campus:

The process, looking back, was crazy. We met with our athletics department and asked to make this hype video with them because we had the tools to make it of a high quality. We told them that we think students would be more engaged with the rest of the university if they saw students making a comedic, yet epic, hype video.

The reaction across campus has been fantastic. Speaking on my own accord, I have received word that some neighboring band programs grew quite jealous of our swagger which only puts a bigger smile on my face.

All the rappers in the video and the production crew are all members of the band. Partita Studios assisted with the production.
