The University of Michigan Marching Band returned to action a few days ago, but instead of the football field they took their show to the hard court and performed at halftime of a Michigan basketball game.
Who ever said marching bands only belong at football games!?! Not us!
This has become a tradition now for Michigan. They have regularly marched at basketball games and hockey games while providing pep bands at many other sports. We’ve seen many other schools start to do this as well and hope it continues to gain speed.
It would be great to have a marching band play at multiple basketball games throughout the basketball season. Who knows, maybe one day the NCAA Tournament will include both bands playing at halftime from the court?
