The 2018 season is officially upon us! Yesterday bands from the FCS, HBCU and FBS ranks all performed opening the year in what has been coined as weekend zero for college football.
The Prairie View A&M University Marching Storm traveled to Rice University in Houston for their first game and honored Aretha Franklin at halftime.
Their show is already going viral as they absolutely crushed it. Many bands have decided to pivot some of their shows to honor the late Queen of Soul. PVAMU was able to pull it together for their first show and it is absolutely fantastic.
The HBCU style is one that is always fun to see come to FBS stadiums and is typically very well received by fans. The Rice crowd loved it and showed the band some major love the whole day.
Here is their full performance. Share so all fans can enjoy!
Fun fact: PVAMU Marching Storm marched in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade last November.
