The University of Central Florida Marching Knights are rallying together to support one of their own after mellophone, Ryan Bouschet, was recently diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.
For an 18-year-old this is not a path you expect to go down during the best four years of your life. However, after a year of searching for an answer to pain and lumps in his body, Ryan and his family are now focused on beating cancer.
Ryan had his first official session of chemo therapy on April 12th and has a long six months ahead of him. If all goes well, Ryan could rejoin the Marching Knights sometime this fall.
The UCF Marching Knights have rallied behind him and shown amazing support so far. Many other college bands are starting to hear about his story and trying to figure out how they can help as well.
We ask that you keep Ryan and his family in your thoughts and prayers. A GoFundMe has been started to help the family with paying for other treatments that aren’t covered by insurance. Any gift you can make towards this would be amazing.
We will follow Ryan’s story throughout the season and keep you updated.
